The Makings of a Pocaroo Baby Wrap

Pocaroo Baby Wraps are made from 70% Tencel, 30% Cupro, which is the best fabric for a baby wrap. We have put a lot of time and effort into researching fabric and finding the best for you and your baby. Our hope is that wearing your baby is a comfortable, soft, luxurious feeling for you daily and we know that the fabric of your wrap will make or break your ability to experience that.

Why is this the best fabric for a baby wrap? Let us answer some of your questions…

What is Tencel? Tencel is a lyocell fabric made from cellulose or wood pulp. Lyocell is known for being sustainable and durable. Other great features of Tencel are its strength, breath-ability, high moisture absorption, and gentle, soft quality. These qualities make Tencel the perfect fabric for you and your baby to wear together every day.

What is Cupro? Cupro is a recycled fabric, using regenerated cellulose fibers from recycled cotton linter. Cupro breathes and regulates temperature like cotton, and feels like silk. Cupro provides a silky smooth, luxurious softness to the wrap without sacrificing the comfort and breathability that are key in a garment you will be sharing with your baby regularly.

The pocket on the wrap is made from 100% cotton, woven material. The woven square on the front of the wrap provides an extra bit of strong, solid support for baby’s back and neck. Cotton is used because of its characteristic qualities of absorption, comfort, and, of course, the way it breathes. Also, because of all the colors and patterns available with this versatile fabric!

Cleaning the Pocaroo Baby Wrap

Your Pocaroo Baby Wrap can be handwashed or machine washed on the delicate cycle in cold water.

Handwashing is always the best and safest way to wash delicate fabrics. It is also the ideal way to care for your wrap in order to keep the two types of fabric from shrinking at different rates.

Knowing this, all the fabric we use is machine washed before production in order to reduce shrinkage after the product is created.

To machine wash, place your wrap in a mesh laundry bag or something similar. Select the delicate cycle on the washing machine, and make sure the water temperature is set to cold and the spin is on low before washing.
